By the Numbers
The American School Counselor Association recommends a ratio of 250 students per counselor. The national average is 372:1 — and that's still just an average.
"There is no way a school counselor can ever get to work intentionally with your child. Even at the recommended 250:1, a counselor spending equal time with every student would have less than 8 minutes per week per student. Your child deserves more than that."

About LaunchPoint
LaunchPoint Educational Solutions was created to give students and families the kind of personalized support that is often hard to access in traditional school settings. Even when students have a school counselor, many do not receive the time, attention, or individualized guidance they truly need.
In many schools, support naturally gets pulled toward the top 10% of students who already know how to navigate the system, or the bottom 10% who are facing immediate and urgent challenges. Too many students in the middle are left without the steady guidance they need to plan, grow, and move forward with confidence.
LaunchPoint exists for those students and families.
We help families make sense of important school and future-planning decisions with clarity, care, and purpose — because every student deserves meaningful guidance, not just the students who are already excelling or those in crisis.

I'm a licensed school counselor and the founder of LaunchPoint Educational Solutions. I started LaunchPoint because I know too many students never receive the full level of support they deserve — even when they have a counselor at school. In many cases, attention is concentrated on students at the very top or bottom, while a large number of students in the middle are left trying to figure things out on their own.
I believe every student deserves personalized guidance, clear planning, and someone who will take the time to help them see what is possible. Through LaunchPoint, I help high school students and families navigate academic planning, college and career readiness, Section 504 support, and other key school-based decisions with greater clarity and confidence.
My academic background includes a B.A. in Sociology from Lane College (2010), an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Freed-Hardeman University (2012), and an Ed.D. in Leadership and Policy from the University of Memphis (2025) — three perspectives that shape how I approach every student's situation: with context, care, and a commitment to practical solutions.
Every student deserves a clear path forward — not just the students who are already excelling or those in crisis. I meet students where they are, understand their unique strengths and challenges, and build actionable plans that lead to real, lasting success.
